Another possibility is that the PlayStation 3 console (manufactured by Sony, the main advocate of Blu-ray Discs) will gain a major lead in sales for Blu-ray players when it launches in 2006. Universal Studios has announced exclusivity to HD DVD, while 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures Entertainment are exclusive to Blu-ray. The remaining five major movie studios are supporting both.
